Other Angle goes for a bite of Big Bad Wolf

EXCLUSIVE: Paris-based sales agent Other Angle has picked up French ensemble comedy The Big Bad Wolf (Le Grand Mechant Loup), a modern-day reworking of the children’s fairy-tale.

French stars Kad Merad, Benoit Poolevorde and Fred Testot will play three thirty-something brothers whose lives fall apart when their mother falls ill. Actresses Valérie Donzelli, Zabou Breitman and Charlotte Lebon are also attached.

The picture, produced by Eric and Nicolas Altmayer of Madarin Cinema, is a liberal remake of the Canadian hit Les Trois Petits Cochons.

Other new projects include Cyril Cohen’s adaptation of Israeli writer Alona Kimhi’s awarding-winning bestseller Weeping Susannah about a neurotic 33-year-old woman living with her aging mother in Tel Aviv.

Marina Foïs has signed up star in the film opposite Gael Garcia Bernal in the picture produced by Christine Gozlan of Thelma Films and Emmanuel Murat at Barbecue Films.

Other Angle’s packed slate of feel-good movies also includes the first two films starring Omar Sy since Intouchables: Olivier Dahan’s The Dream Team (Les Seigneurs) about a group of jaded football stars and, which will world premiere in the market, and On the Other Side of the Tracks (De l’autre coté du perif), for which they have a first promo reel.
