Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has acquired key territories on the Justin Timberlake starrer Spinning Gold, which Foresight Unlimited has introduced to buyers in Cannes.
Foresight president Tamara Birkemoe and Jenna Sanz-Agero closed the deal with SPWA’s Michael Helfand, Joe Matukewicz and Jon Freedberg for Latin America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and Greece and the parties are in talks for a number of other major markets.
SPWA and Foresight previously collaborated on 2 Guns.
Foresight CEO Mark Damon will produce Spinning Gold alongside Timberlake, Laurence Mark and Boardwalk Entertainment’s Timothy Scott Bogart and Gary A Randall. Joyce Bogart-Trabulus serves as executive producer along with Birkemoe and Envision Entertainment’s Remington Chase, Stepan Martirosyan and Vitaly Grigoriants.
Timberlake, in Cannes to talk to buyers, will star as record industry icon Neil Bogart. CAA represents US rights.
