Crystal Sky head Steven Paul is in Cannes talking up High Speed, a high-budget action project in the vein of the Fast And Furious series and Cannonball Run that top action director Vic Armstrong will direct

LA-based Paul, handling international sales through SP Sales with Chris Bialek, described High Speed as the story of a CIA mission to foil a potentially catastrophic criminal plot that takes place during a rally chase across land, sea and air.

Production is lined up for the third quarter and will shoot in Europe, North America, Latin America and Asia.

“I looked up all of the top action films the past 10 years and found out they all had one thing in common – Vic Armstrong,” said Paul. Armstrong’s credits include Thor, The Amazing Spider-Man, Salt and a number of James Bond films.

Paul and Bialek have concluded deals on new title The Dark Prince with Splendid for Germany and Benelux, Gulf Films for the Middle East, California Films for Latin America, Pioneer for the Philippines and PT Amero for Indonesia.

Pearry Teo’s $6m love story about Dracula’s early years shot in Romania and screens in the market.

Paul is gearing up for a fourth quarter start in Thailand on Teo’s action adventure The Rise Of The Tournament. Paul produces with Ong Bak producer Prachya Pinkaew.

Paul and Bialek are joined in Cannes by director of international sales Monica Mal and Isaac Paul as well as Paul’s longtime business consultant Scott Karol.
