German independent distributor acquires Best Night Ever, Gallows Hill, The Visitors and The Wedding Pact.

On the eve of the Cannes market, aggressive German independent distributor Tiberius has been on a buying spree.

Tiberius has already snapped up several prominent Marché titles. One acquisition is Best Night Ever (sold by Good Universe), a raucous comedy set against the backcloth of a blow-out bachelorette party in Las Vegas. It is directed by spoofmeisters Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer [pictured].

Also picked up by Tiberius is Gallows Hill (sold by IM Global), a mystery thriller with Peter Facinelli and Sophia Myles.

Meanwhile, Tiberius has picked up the Vicious Brothers’ sci-fi drama The Visitors (sold by Cargo). The film starts shooting in June 2013 and stars Gil Bellows and Freddie Stroma.

Another fresh pick-up is Spotlight Pictures’ The Wedding Pact, a romantic comedy with Haylie Duff and Chris Soldevilla.

“It was a great start into this year’s market in Cannes. We were able to secure top star driven highlights already that will appeal to German audiences,” commented Wolfgang Carl, managing partner of Tiberius Film GmbH.
