EXCLUSIVE: Coriolanus producer teams with UK artists on Metamorphosis.

Former TWC and GK Films executive Colin Vaines is producing two film projects with controversial British artists the Chapman Brothers.

Set to shoot this summer, Chapman script Metamorphosis will also be directed and designed by the UK duo.

Commissioned by the New York art festival Performa, the black and white film will twist Kafka’s classic story to follow an insect who wakes up to find itself transformed into a human.

Chapman collaborator Rhys Ifans, who starred in Dinos’ short The Organ Grinder’s Monkey is in talks to play the lead. The film will premiere at Performa in November.

The Chapmans and Vaines are also working on a feature adaptation of Jake Chapman’s novel The Marriage of Reason and Squalor.

Jake and Dinos Chapman, part of the famous YBA movement, were nominated for the Turner Prize in 2003.

“Jake and Dinos have written an extraordinary adaptation of Kafka’s story, and their design and artistic conception will make this film a visually compelling, darkly funny, moving and disturbing experience,” said Vaines.
