Festival is looking to up its number of US and international films. 

Swedish music and film festival Way Out West (Aug 8-10) is set to expand its film offering this year.

In its eighth year the event, which won an MTV Award for Most Innovative Festival 2012, will host screenings of more than 30 films in five theatres and a new outdoor cinema as well as previews of new TV shows and music videos. 

The festival last year played host to the Swedish premiere of Searching for Sugar Man and it is now looking to up its number of US and international films. 

Neil Young, The Knife and Kendrick Lamar are due to perform at this year’s edition. Film programmer Svante Tidholm’s lineup is to announced shortly.
