Korea’s Writers Agency of Finecut (WAF) has struck a deal with Hong Kong’s Golden Network Asia for them to be their Chinese agency partner.

Golden Network Asia director Clarence Tang said: “The China market is hungry for screenplays and has already recognized South Korea as its natural partner in the region.

“We are excited to collaborate with Finecut based on the quality of the first batch of screenplays produced by their stable of writers.

“We are particularly impressed by the range and quality of their writing in a variety of genres that are desperately needed in China.”

WAF is launching 10 original stories at Filmart.

The WAF writers includes Cho Sang-bum (Tazza - The Hidden Card), Kwon Sung-hui (As One), and Oh Tae-kyung (Insadong Scandal).

Finecut has remake deals in place for earlier films such as New World (with Sony Pictures), Hide And Seek (optioned by Village Roadshow Asia for Chinese-language remake) and Hello Ghost (optioned by Universal through 1492 Pictures and CJ, to be directed by Chris Columbus with Adam Sandler attached).
