Mirren and husband Taylor Hackford to attend the Czech festival

During the Gala Opening Ceremony of the 47th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the Crystal Globe for Outstanding Artistic Contribution to World Cinema will be awarded to Helen Mirren.

She will attend the festival alongside her husband, director Taylor Hackford.

KVIFF will screen Mirren’s new film The Door, directed by Istvan Szabo.

Mirren’s great film roles include The Madness of King George, Cal, Gosford Park, Calendar Girls, The Last Station and The Queen.

Last year’s Crystal Globe went to another legendary British actress, Judi Dench.

KVIFF runs June 29-July 7.
