The 47th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival has announced three retrospectives.

Turkish filmmaker Reha Erdem will be on hand to introduce all six of his films, including A Ay, Times And Winds, My Only Sunshine and Kosmos.

The late Jean-Pierre Melville, hailed as “godfather of the French New Wave,” will be honoured with screenings of Bob le flambeur, Le Samourai, Le cercle rouge, Army of Shadows and more. Film writer Rui Nogueira will be on hand to introduce the nine films in the tribute.

Also, the festival will honour the centenary of Michelangelo Antonioni’s [pictured] birth by showing a complete retrospective of his 16 documentaries, such as People of the Po Valley, Sanitation Department, Chung Kuo China and Lies of Love. Plus the festival will screen 2004 film Michelangelo Eye to Eye.

KVIFF runs June 29-July 7.
