UK festival to host preview screening of Salmon Fishing in the Yemen; Beaufoy in conversation with novelist Torday.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, The Woman in Black, Jane Eyre and Resistance are among the 20 films screening at this year’s From Page to Screen Film Festival (April 11-15) in Bridport, West Dorset.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen screenwriter Simon Beaufoy will be in conversation with novelist Paul Torday following the advance screening. The film gets its UK release on April 20 and its UK premiere on April 10.

Other guests include Tom Courtenay who will speak before a screening of The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, Moira Buffini (Jane Eyre, Tamara Drewe), who will give a masterclass, James Watkins, Amit Gupta and Owen Sheers.

Filmmakers can enter the ‘Flash-Film’ competition by submitting their own 60-second film.

Partners are BAFTA and Virgin. Francine Stock is the festival’s guest director.
