Ivan Corbisier has been appointed as the new director of the Brussels Film Festival.

Corbisier currently runs another film event in the Belgian capital - Brussels Movie Days – as well as an annual open air cinema tour. He already has links with the Brussels Film Festival having co-ordinated the 2005 and 2006 editions.

This year’s programme will be made up of five sections; official competition, avant –premieres, unreleased European films, open air screenings, Belgian talents.

Historically the festival has only featured first and second features, to tie in with its focus on young, emerging talent and low budget productions. This year’s edition will be open to any films.

The eighth edition of the festival will run June 23rd to 30 at Flagey in Brussels, Belgium.
