Tony Goldwyn’s drama Conviction starring Hilary Swank will open the 33rd Mill Valley Film Festival on October 7.

John Madden’s ensemble thriller The Debt with Helen Mirren and Jessica Chastain and Sam Worthington will close the event on October.

Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu’s Biutiful starring Javier Bardem gets a centerpiece slot and there will be a tribute to Edward Norton, who stars in the thriller Stone opposite Robert De Niro and Milla Jovovich.
