Top speakers confirmed for new EIFF industry conference
Speakers at June 17 conference will include BFI’s Amanda Nevill [pictured], Oscar-winning producer Iain Canning, Optimum CEO Danny Perkins, Ruby’s Paul Trijbits and Duncan Heath of Independent Talent.
The Edinburgh International Film Festival has confirmed new speakers for its new industry conference, addressing What is the State of the British Film Nation? The conference, which runs on Friday, June 17 during the EIFF, is organised in partnership with Screen International.
Amanda Nevill [pictured], head of the British Film Institute, will open the day with remarks about the new BFI.
Topics include the rise of cinematic TV with Ruby’s Paul Trijbits and Kudos’ Stephen Garrett; Hollywood and the UK featuring Duncan Heath of Independent Talent Group, The King’s Speech producer Iain Canning of See-Saw Films, and Lucas Webb who is heading the new Ingenious/Fox Searchlight joint venture.
Targeting an audience will be addressed by Pete Buckingham of the BFI, producer and Microwave scheme consultant Mia Bays, Andy Whittaker of distributor Dogwoof, and Hamish Moseley of Momentum.
A panel about co-producing with Europe will include ACE president Simon Perry, producer Cat Villiers of Autonomous, producer Gillian Berrie of Sigma Films and Danny Perkins, CEO of distributor Optimum.
