Stonybrook Southampton, in New York, will host its second screenwriting conference from July 29-August 2.

The conference for aspiring screenwriters, which is an extension of the Southampton Writers Conference, will be held at Stonybrook Southampton’s Campus.

The intimate workshops will be led by industry veterans including Boys Don’t Cry writer Andrew Bienen; Hook writer Malia Scotch Marmo; producer/writer/actor Peter Reigert (Local Hero), An Ideal Husband producer Susan B Landau; and playwright/screenwriter Frank Pugliese.

The series will close with an evening with actor/director Alec Baldwin and playwright/screenwriter/actor Jon Robin Baitz, in discussion and also presenting clips from their favourite films.

Literary agent and film producer Annette Chandler Handley will serve as director of the conference. “We have worked diligently to offer workshop leaders that are renowned talents who are both inspirational and informative,” she said. “We attract a high caliber, dynamic student who is serious about mastering the art of the screenplay.”
