Italy’s Academy Awards submission The First Beautiful Thing (La Prima Cosa Bella) will open the Cinema Italian Style 2010 showcase in Los Angeles on Nov 9.
Micaela Ramazzotti stars in Paolo Virzi’s comedic drama and the two di Donatello winners will attend the event.
Passione director John Turturro and photographer Douglas Kirkland will receive this year’s Cinema Italian Style award.
Films that will screen during the event include Baciami Ancora (Kiss Me Again) by Gabriele Muccino, L’Uomo Che Verra (The Man Who Will Come) by Giorgio Diritti, and Turturro’s Passione (Passion).
A special presentation of the line-up will take place on Nov 8 at the Le Merigot Hotel in Santa Monica during AFM. A networking event organised by the Italian Film Commission will show highlights of the selections and introduce the actors and directors in attendance.
Cinema Italian Style 2010 is scheduled to run until November 20,
