Rashaad Ernesto Green’s Gun Hill Road will open ths year’s Outfest, set to run in Los Angeles from Jul 7-17.

Organisers have programmed 163 films from 25 countries, of which 67 are features and 96 shorts. The timetable will include panels, the 25th anniversary of the Teddy Award and special events across seven venues.

The roster includes the US Dramatic Centerpiece screening of Maryam Keshavarz’s Circumstance, the International Dramatic Centerpiece screening of British director Andrew Haigh’s Weekend and the Documentary Centerpiece film, Hit So Hard.
