The Hollywood Brazilian Film Festival (HBRFest) celebrates its fifth anniversary with more than 30 premieres showcasing fiction, documentary and short films in competition from Jul 31-Aug 4 in Hollywood.

The Opening Night Gala Film will be Guest Of Honour Anna Muylaert’s family drama While My Guitar Gently Weeps and the closing film, also from Muylaert, will be the comedy Durval Records.

Other films premiering include Joel Pizzini’s biopic about director Rogerio Sganzerla, Mr. Sganzerla, Sérgio Andrade’s Jonathas’ Forest and Gabriel Mascaro’s Housemaids.

HBRFest will offer several industry panels that include discussions on diversity with Deborah Calla of the Producers Guild Of America, Kimberly Myers of the Writers Guild Of America and Regina Render of the Directors Guild Of America.
