The 20th annual Los Angeles Film Festival presented by Film Independent will close with Clint Eastwood’s stage musical adaptation.

Warner Bros will release Jersey Boys starring John Lloyd Young, Erich Bergen, Michael Lomenda, Vincent Piazza and Christopher Walken on June 20.

Gala Screenings include Ira Sachs’ Love Is Strange, Justin Simien’s Dear White People and Hossein Amini’s The Two Faces Of January.

For the fifth year the festival will run in downtown Los Angeles at L.A. LIVE from June 11-19.

As previously announced, Lisa Cholodenko will serve as guest director and Sony Pictures Classics’ Tom Bernard and Michael Barker will receive the Spirit Of Independence Award and take part in an on-stage conversation followed by a screening of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

“Los Angeles has nurtured the collective hopes and dreams of generations,” said festival director Stephanie Allain. “This year in honour of our 20th anniversary, we’re putting the spotlight on films, conversations and performances inspired by the spirit of L.A. Many events are one-night-only so come out and celebrate.”

  • BAMcinemaFest2014 will feature 24 New York premieres. Bookending the festival are Richard Linklater’s previously announced Boyhood and a 25th anniversary screening of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing. The centerpiece is Bong Joon Ho’s Snowpiercer and the spotlight screening is David Wain’s They Came Together with Paul Rudd and Amy Poehler. The event runs from June 18-29.
  • The eighth annual Los Angeles Greek Film Festival runs from June 4-8 and will screen 29 features, documentaries and shorts including Nick Cassavetes’ current rom-com release The Other Woman.
