Travolta to receive award before gala screening of Oliver Stone’s opening night film, Savages.

John Travolta is to receive the Zurich Film Festival’s (Sept 20 – 30) Golden Eye award for achievements in cinema at a ceremony before Oliver Stone’s opening night film, Savages.

“We’re excited to welcome John Travolta to Zurich to bestow him with this honor and celebrate his amazing career,” said festival director Karl Spoerri. “We’re gearing up for a momentous opening night.”

Savages actor Travolta has twice been nominated for Academy Awards across his 37-year career. The US actor’s memorable performances include Saturday Night Fever, Grease, Get Shorty, Pulp Fiction and Face/Off.

He recently completed filming Mark Steven Johnson action film Killing Season, co-starring Robert DeNiro.
