The line-up will feature Daniel Gaglianone’s Pietro and Bruce LaBruce’s Zombie.

Two titles have been announced for the Locarno Film Festival’s international competition section, ahead of the official line-up announcement on 14 July.

The world premiere of Daniele Gaglianone’s third fiction feature Pietro and the international premiere of Canadian film-maker Bruce LaBruce’s Zombie will be competiting for the festival’s Golden Leopoard, which carries a cash prize of 90,000 Swiss francs.  Around 20 films will feature in the competition section in all.

Gaglianone featured in the Festival in 2008 with an out-of-competition screening of his documentary Rata Nece Biti (There Will Not Be The War). It will be LaBruce’s first time at the festival.

The competition jury is being headed up by Singapore film-maker Eric Khoo, alongside Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani, French actor Melvil Poupaud, Swiss director Lionel Baier and US directorJoshua Safdie.

The 63rd edition of the Festival del film Locarno will take place 4 - 14 August, 2010.
