Festival also to focus on Hindi cinema, with attendees including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra.

The 12th Marrakech International Film Festival (Nov 30 – Dec 8) will feature tributes to Zhang Yimou, Isabelle Huppert, Jonathan Demme, Karim Abouobayd and Yash Chopra as well as a sidebar on Hindi cinema.

There will be open-air screenings of Hindi classics in the Jemaa El Fna Square with a fleet of renowned Bollywood industry in attendance including Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Hrithik Roshan, Jaya Bachchan, Sridevi, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Karan Johar , Ashutosh Gowariker and Ronnie Screwvala.

John Boorman will preside over the feature jury comprising Gemma Arterton, Marie Josee Croze, Pierfrancesco Favino, James Gray, Jeon Soo-il, Lambert Wilson, Jillali Ferhati and Sharmila Tagore.

There will be masterclasses for Darren Aronofsky, Jonathan Demme, Matteo Garrone and Brillante Mendoza.

The festival’s film lineup has yet to be announced.
