Gere will introduce new thriller Arbitrage at gala screening.

Richard Gere is to receive the Zurich Film Festival’s (September 20– 30) Golden Icon Award, the festival’s most prestigious lifetime achievement award.

Gere will receive the accolade on Sunday, September 23 at the Corso Cinema, before a gala screening of his latest film Arbitrage.

Nicholas Jarecki’s thriller debuted to acclaim at Sundance and will open the San Sebastian Film Festival.

“Richard Gere is an extraordinary man whose accomplishments in Hollywood are equaled by his humanitarian achievements,” said Karl Spoerri. “We’re honored to recognize his amazing career at the Zurich Film Festival.”
