The International Film Festival Rotterdam has announced the remaining titles in its Tiger Awards Competition.

This year’s competition, which is for first and second features, is led by Asian and Latin American titles.

New titles unveiled today include Elisa Miller’s Alicia, Go Yonder, the story of an aspiring acrobat who moves from Mexico to Buenos Aires; Spanish director Sergio Caballero’s feature debut Finisterrae, a road movie about ghosts; the world premiere of contemporary Russian story Gromozeka; Brazilian doc-fiction hybrid prize-winner The Sky Above; and All Your Dead Ones, set on an election day in Colombia.

In total 14 films will compete for three top prizes of €15,000 each, supported by the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds.

As previously reported, the Tiger jury is comprised of Lucrecia Martel, Sandra den Hamer, Andrei Ujica, Wisit Sasanatieng and Lee Ranaldo.

Also, there will be 28 short films, ranging from 6 to 52 minutes, competing for the Short Film Tiger Awards. Five of those are world premieres.

The shorts jury will be Fiona Tan, Anocha Suwichakornpong, and Thom Andersen. Three winning shorts will get €3,000 each. The Tiger for Shorts is supported by the City Marketing Office Rotterdam.
