SEEfest to honour George Chakiris

The tenth anniversary South East European Film Festival (SEEfest) will screen The Japanese Dog for the event’s opening night in Los Angeles on April 30.

Tudor Cristian Jurgiu’s drama explores the life of an old widower whose village is devastated after recent floods and is reunited with his estranged son. The film stars Romanian actor Victor Rebenguic.

The opening night gala will also present the festival’s first Lifetime Achievement and Legacy Awards to Rebenguic and George Chakiris.

Chakiris is a 1962 Oscar and Golden Globe Award winner for his role as Bernardo in West Side Story.

The festival’s line-up includes entries from across the region such as Bota, Cowboys, It Takes Two To Fence and Down The River are a few of the titles that will be exhibited during the festival.

The festival runs through May 7. For full details click here.
