Tribeca Film Festival parent company has teamed up with the performing arts and lifestyle event management operators on a slate of films that will screen during the Jun 11-18 Tuscan Sun Festival in Florence, Italy.

Tribeca top brass will select films to screen over the five-day Tribeca Firenze programme, which will include the European premiere of Dion Beebe’s The Zen Of Bennett, whose subject Tony Bennett will attend.

“Tribeca’s mission is to provide filmmakers with audiences who are passionate about film, to make independent film accessible to a broad international community, and to move people with the power of cinema. These ideas are at the heart of our partnership with IMGA and the Tuscan Sun Festival,” Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoffrey Gilmore said.

“The Tribeca Firenze film program is a natural extension of the Tuscan Sun Festival and will also reflect the quality it has come to represent,” Tuscan Sun Festival founder and director and IMG Artists partner Barrett Wissman said.

The Tuscan Sun Festival and Tribeca Firenze are supported by the Ente Cassa di Risparmio of Florence and organised under the patronage of Florence Mayor Matteo Renzi and the City in partnership with the Fondazione Teatro della Pergola, the New Theater of the Maggio Musicale of Florence, the Odeon Cinema, and the Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi. Gucci is one of the lead sponsors.
