Fourth edition of Odessa International Film Festival runs July 12-20.

Odessa International Film Festival (OIFF) president Victoria Tigipko, director Denis Ivanov and art director Alik Shpiluk have announced that Ukrainian producer Alexander Rodnyansky [pictured] will head its international jury.

Rodnyansky has produced the likes of Cloud Atlas, The Dyatlov Pass Incident and Elena, and will head the jury that will evaluate the films of the International Competition of this year’s festival, which runs July 12-20.

Tigipko commented: “As a man who has found in his work the right place between art and mainstream cinema, Rodnyansky is the perfect candidate for the position of the Head of OIFF International Competition Jury, where the films in the genre of art-mainstream are selected.”

OIFF has also announced that its Ukrainian National Film Award will be given out in two categories - Best Ukrainian Feature Film and Best Ukrainian Short Film - for the first time, with the prize fund increased. Head of the international jury of the award will be British documentary filmmaker, author and curator Mark Cousins.

Serbian film director Emir Kusturica will be the guest of honour at this year’s edition and will receive The Golden Duke for lifetime achievement at the opening ceremony on July 12, where his band No Smoking Orchestra will perform.
