Ami Livne’s Sharqiya has won the Jerusalem Film Festival’s Haggiag Award for Best Feature.

Livne’s film about a Bedouin living in a village in Negev whose house is set to be demolished, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival.

An honourable mention was given to Dana Goldberg for Alice, which also won the Gottileb Award for best screenplay.

The Pirchi Family Award went to Meni Yaish’s debut feature God’s Neighbor, which screened at Cannes this year. The theological drama centres around three men who force their beliefs on neighborhood residents.

In the acting categories, Rivka Gur was named best actress for her role in Epilogue and Ilanit Ben Yaakov for her role in Alice, whilst the Best Actor award went to Yosef Carmon for his role in Epilogue.

Emad Burnat & Guy Davidi’s Five Broken Cameras won the festival’s Best Documentary Award, with the best director of a Documentary Film Award went to Ran Tal, for the film The Garden Of Eden.

The festival wrapped July 14.
