The Festival’s 11th edition will run from December 2-10.

The line-up for this year’s Marrakech’s feature film competition includes 10 debut films and 3 second features, with a focus on “emerging film makers from around the world”.

The debut features in the official selection include Australian director Justin Kurtzel’s Cannes hit Snowtown, Swiss director Cihan Inan’s 180, Death Is My Profession by first time Iranian director Amir Hossein Saghafi and Cyril Mennegun’s Louise Wimmer from France.

Meanwhile, director Asghar Farhadi has had to bow out as a member of the feature jury due to his schedule promoting his award winning film A Separation for Oscar submission. He is replaced by A Separation star Leila Hatami who will join jurors Jessica Chastain, director Nicole Garcia, director Abdelkader Lagtaâ, director Brillante Ma. Mendoza, director Radu Mihaileanu, actress Maya Sansa, director Aparna Sen, and director Emir Kusturica as President of the Feature Films Jury.

The Cinecoles Short Film Competition Jury will be headed by actress Sigourney Weaver.

Other films to screen during the week-long festival will include A Dangerous Method, Miss Bala, My Back Page, and When The Night.
