The fourth South East European Film Festival kicks off on April 30 at the Goethe Institute in Los Angeles with a screening of Behind The Glassfollowed by the documentaryDivorce Albanian Style.

The festival runs until May 4 and will present entries from Albania, Austria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Turkey and US.

Screenings include Painted Pride, Tunnel’s End, The Fourth Man, Two Fairies,Unplugged, and Rooster’s Breakfast.

The inaugural business conference on May 4 will explore opportunities in South East Europe for independent cinema.

“With a rich history of first-class film-making, but one that is not immediately on the minds of independent film-makers, the area of South East Europe is a potential treasure trove of financing or production solutions”, Gregory Schenz, conference chair and Endgame Entertainment’s senior vice-president of legal and business affairs, said.

“At the Conference we also hope to share and discuss new alternatives to distributing and promoting independent film as well as foreign language films.”
