Festival top brass have selected the 10 entries and arthouse venues that comprise the Sundance Film Festival USA.

Breaking from years past, the touring event will not run concurrently with the festival proper but will take place on Jan 31, after the Park City jamboree has concluded.

“The independent film community is thriving, and we attribute that in part to the work of independent theatres across the country that are engaging film-loving audiences throughout the year,” said Sundance Film Festival director John Cooper [pictured with director of programming Trevor Groth.] “Their support encourages artists to continue pushing boundaries, knowing that audiences are open and excited to connect with their new work.”

Each filmmaker will travel to his or her respective venue. The films and their paired venues are as follows:

The Michigan Theatre, Ann Arbor, Michigan – The East;

Coolidge Corner Theatre, Massachusetts – The Lifeguard;

BAM, Brooklyn, New York – Kill Your Darlings;

Music Box Theatre, Chicago, Illinois – Touchy Feely;

Sundance Cinemas Houston, Houston, Texas – Ain’t Them Bodies Saints;

Sundance Sunset Cinemas, Los Angeles, California – Afternoon Delight;

Belcourt Theatre, Nashville, Tennessee – Mother Of George;

Enzian Theatre, Orlando, Florida – A.C.O.D.;

Sundance Kabuki Cinemas, San Francisco, California – In A World…; and

The Loft, Tucson, Arizona – The Spectacular Now.
