The Honda Power Of Dreams Lab Fellowship will provide a stipend to “an outstanding filmmaker participating in the Institute’s renowned Feature Film Program Directors Lab.”

The additional support is designed to allow directors to rehearse, shoot and edit scenes from their screenplays in a pressure-free workshop. Institute executive director Keri Putnam called it “a natural extension” of the Feature Film Program’s mandate to support filmmakers from undrerepresented communities.

Director of the Sundance Feature Film Program Michelle Satter will oversee the initiative with the support and artistic direction of Gyula Gazdag.

The 2011 Honda Power Of Dreams Fellow will be named on April 14. The Sundance Institute June Directors Lab runs in Utah from May 30-Jun 23.
