The North American rights deal for 99% – The Occupy Wall St Collaborative Film is the latest in a surge of acquisitions that came out of Park City last week. Phase 4 Films has acquired US rights to NEXT entry Milkshake.

Audrey Ewell, Aaron Aites, Lucian Read and Nina Krstic directed 99% – The Occupy Wall St Collaborative Film, which chronicles the birth of the anti-elitism Occupy movement

Ewell, Aites and Williams Cole produced the film and Brian Devine, Brooke Devine and Tyler Brodie served as executive producers.

Jeff Ivers of Participant negotiated the deal with Ben Weiss of Paradigm. After a theatrical run the documentary will premiere on Participant’s upcoming TV channel set to launch in August.

Phase 4 plans a summer theatrical and VoD release through its Kevin Smith Movie Club on Milkshake, David Andalman and Mariko Munro’s portrait of a wannabe thug in Washington DC who strives to be black. Tyler Ross stars.

Andalman and Munro wrote the screenplay and produced, while Vinay Singh and Jason Sosnoff served as executive producers. Phase 4 negotiated the deal with Cinetic Media.

  • 108 Media/Paladin has acquiredworldwide rights to Musa Syeed’s Sundance 2012 World Cinema Competition entry Valley Of Saints, which earned the audience award and the Alfred P Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize. 108 Media will commence sales at the EFM next month after concluding the deal with Traction Media on behalf of the film-makers. A North American release is being planned for the summer.
