UPDATED: The traditional Monday landslide kicked in as Relativity paid around $4m and made a $25m p&a commitment for US rights to Don Jon’s Addiction, while The Weinstein Company stumped up between $2-3m for North American and English-speaking distribution rights and international sales rights to Fruitvale.

Meanwhile deals were expected later today or tomorrow on Jerusha Hess’ Austenland and Gabriela Cowperthwaite’s US Documentary Competition entry Blackfish.

TWC negotiated with worldwide sales representative WME for Fruitvale, Ryan Coogler’s US Dramatic Competition entry based on the last day in the life of murdered 22-year-old Bay Area resident Oscar Grant in 2008.

The buyer beat out bids from the likes of Fox Searchlight, Paramount and CBS Films.

Relativity prevailed in the two-day hunt for Don Jon’s Addiction and demonstrated its passion for the raunchy rom-com with an extraordinary commitment for a wide release that could go out as early as this summer.

WME and CAA are the joint domestic sales representatives and Voltage Pictures financed the film and holds international rights.

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has taken the world on Austenland and SPC will distribute in North America.

Buyers are also circling Richard Linklater’s Before Midnight following the world premiere on Sunday night, as well as Park City At Midnight entry We Are What We Are and US Dramatic Competition entry Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.
