Under European Film Promotion’s Film Sales Support scheme, 47 European films from 18 European countries will receive help with their marketing campaigns during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Now in its sixth year, the Film Sales Support scheme, which is backed by the Media Programme of the European Union, promises to cover half of the promotional costs for participating films which are unsold to Canada and the US, and are being marketed in Toronto.

In all, 25 sales agents will benefit from the scheme, including France’s Kinology, who will receive help in promoting Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s Gala Presentation Sarah’s Key,  Italy’s Adriana Chiesa Enterprises for Stefano Pasetto’s The Call, and Spanish outfit DeAPlaneta who will be selling Guillem Morales’ Julia’s Eyes at the festival.

Other films to receive backing include Tom Hall’s Irish feature Sensation, which is being sold by Bl!inder Films, Richard Ayoade’s Submarine for Protagonist, Pierre Thoretton’s French documentary L’Amour Fou for Films Distribution, Danis Tanovic’s Cirkus Columbia for The Match Factory, and Finnish film Lapland Odyssey by Dome Karukoski, which is being sold by Swedish company The Yellow Affair.
