Toronto industry sessions to feature Tessa Ross, Glen Basner, Jeremy Thomas, Olivier Assayas

Panels to address topics such as emerging markets, creative distribution models and marketing films online.

The Toronto International Film Festival today unveiled its industry programming, which will include a masterclass with Olivier Assayas and Moguls sessions with Film 4 head Tessa Ross, FilmNation founder Glen Basner and Oscar-winning producer Jeremy Thomas (who has Kon-Tiki in the festival).

Film Scholar David Bordwell will deliver a keynote address about digital cinema and film history.

Panel topics include green film production, setting up international co-productions, screenwriting, marketing films online, the future of independent distribution, creative distribution models, making films in emerging markets, microbudget production, transmedia storytelling, first-time feature filmmakers, crowdfunding, the Indian independent scene, interactive cinema and various ways that Canadian filmmakers are working internationally.

Speakers across the panels include producer Gale Anne Hurd, Emerging Pictures’ Ira Deutchman, producer Gareth Unwin, Dolby’s Stuart Bowling, IMAX’s Mark Welton, transmedia expert and filmmaker Lance Weiler, producer Liz Watts, Curzon Artificial Eye’s Phillip Knatchbull, TWC-Radius’ Tom Quinn, Cinetic Rights Managements’ Janet Brown, Kickstarter’s Elisabeth Holm, producer Lynette Howell, director Vasan Bala, and many more.
