The Toronto International Film Festival will run for an extra day this year as staff gear up for the 35th edition.

Festival staff will also operate a new box office at King Street that opens to the public on August 24.

New features include a ticket package that celebrates Canadian film and a refined definition of Premium Screening that offers red carpet experiences at multiple venues.

As previously reported here, the festival’s new year-round home is situated at TIFF Bell Lightbox in downtown Toronto (pictured) and will open on September 12, three days into the festival.

The site houses five public cinemas, ranging from 80 to 550-seater auditoriums, as well as a three-storey atrium, two galleries, three learning studios, a centre for students and scholars, TIFF staff offices, a bistro, restaurant and lounge.

It has yet to be determined how many of the screens will be fully operational in time for the festival. The festival is scheduled to run from September 9-19.
