Glen Basner’s FilmNation has closed key sales on Endgame Entertainment’s upcoming sci-fi Looper to star Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom) wrote and will direct the story, details of which are being kept under wraps.

Ram Bergman is producing with Jim Stern and Doug Hanson. Endgame is fully financing the project, which is scheduled to begin production in Louisiana in January 2011.

Basner has licensed rights to SND in France, E1 in the UK and Benelux, Village Roadshow in Australia and New Zealand, Pop Films in Russia, Revolutionary Releasing in Eastern Europe, and Odeon in Greece.

Further deals closed with Sam Films (Iceland), Shani Films (Israel), Italia (Middle East), Lusomundo (Portugal), Misc Label Aps (Scandinavia), Ascote (Switzerland), TMC (Turkey), Sun (Latin America), Multivision (India, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore), SSG (Taiwan), and Sahamungkol (Thailand.)

“This is a smart, original and action-packed sci-fi thriller for which there’s a large and enthusiastic global audience,” Basner said. “With both Willis and Gordon-Levitt as leads, Looper is a marketable and compelling proposition, promising to be one of the most commercially appealing titles of 2011.”
