Wild Bunch has acquired two new projects as Toronto rolls along this week. Dorothy Mills director Agnes Merlet has completed The Last Furlong, a supernatural, teenage romance picture about a family whose members all bear a mysterious curse. Nick Murphy wrote the script.

The British cast includes Rachel Hurd-Wood, Fish Tank’s Harry Treadaway and Love Actually’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster. With the film now completed, Wild Bunch will screen a promo at the AFM and is eyeing a  Sundance berth.

The company has also boarded The Girl Is In Trouble, a sort of After Hours meets Memento, according to Wild Bunch’s Vincent Maraval. Spike Lee is producing the Julius Onah thriller which stars Ondine’s Alicja Bachleda. Paz de la Huerta, Wilmer Valderrama, Columbus Short and House’s Jesse Spencer also star.

Wild Bunch also announced a handful of sales on Francois Ozon’s Potiche. The film has now added deals in Italy (Bim), Japan (Gaga), Germany (Concorde) and the US (Music Box).
