Hayley Atwell and Jaime Winstone will sit on the jury at the 22nd edition of the Dinard Film Festival, which promotes British films to French audiences.
David Mackenzie’s You Instead, Jim Loach’s Oranges And Sunshine, Paddy Considine’s Tyrannosaur and John. M. McDonagh’s The Guard will compete for this year’s Hitchcock D’Or Award at the 22nd Dinard Film Festival, which runs October 5-9.
A further two films to be selected for competition that will be announced shortly.
British actresses Hayley Atwell and Jaime Winstone will sit on the jury alongside composers Harry Gregson-Williams and Armand Amar, author Stephen Clarke, The Beat My Heart Skipped actress Emmanuelle Devos, French director Eric Lartigau and editor of French film magazine Sonatine Editions, Francois Verdoux.
The jury will be led by French actress Nathalie Baye, whilst singer and actress Petula Clark will be this year’s “Godmother of the Festival.”
British films receiving their French premieres at the festival include Joanna Hogg’s Archipelago, Menhaj Huda’s Everywhere And Nowhere, Malcolm Venville’s 44 Inch Chest, John McIlduff’s Behold the Lamb, Tony Britten’s In Love With Alma Cogan and Belinda Chayko’s Lou.
The Dinard Film Festival suffered a set back in 2010, when it lost its funding from the UKFC and British Council, but French audiences continued to flock to last year’s event, which aims to promote British films in France and attracts a strong show of UK producers and talent.
Last year’s Hitchcock D’Or Award was shared by Nigel Cole’s Made In Dagenham and Jamie Thraves’ Treacle Jr.
