The festival, which runs in London (November 1-20) will feature works from Joseph Cedar, Percy and Felix Adlon.
Paolo Sorrentino’s This Must Be The Place is to open the 2011 UK Jewish Film Festival (UKJFF).
Seventy films will screen at the festival, which showcases films exploring Jewish themes, including works from Joseph Cedar, Percy and Felix Adlon. The event will also show a special screening of Chariots of Fire to commemorate the film’s 30th anniversary with Director Hugh Hudson as the guest of honour.
Along with screenings, Q&A events with film and documentary makers have been scheduled throughout the 20-day festival.
“I’m very excited about this year’s Festival,” commented executive director Judy Ironside. “It’s our aim to provide great entertainment for a wide audience in tandem with showing work that promotes respect, understanding and communication between communities of all backgrounds, ages and cultures.”
The festival has grown since its 1997 founding as the Brighton Jewish Film Festival. Along with the festival, it hosts a variety of events such as national film tours, filmmaker workshops and interfaith screenings.
