Val Kilmer has pulled out of jury duty at the Zurich Film Festival (Sept 25 - Oct 5) for “personal reasons”.

A statement from the festival said: “Unfortunately, the actor Val Kilmer is unable to attend the ZFF.”

Kilmer, best known for roles in Heat, Batman Forever and Top Gun, was due to dit on the international feature film jury, presided over by Oscar-winning Danish director Susanne Bier.

Other members of the jury include Bosnian director Jasmila Žbanić, French producer Marie Masmonteil, and US producer Donald De Line.
