Spanish outfit Film Factory Entertainment has picked up international sales rights to Miguel Angel Toledo’s hotly anticipated feature debut The Path (La Senda), co-written with Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.

The project is currently in post and tells the story of a couple, Raul and Ana, who take a Christmas break in a remote mountain cabin to help save their marriage, but when one of the locals joins them, Raul gets jealous leading to some mysterious occurences.

The cast is led by Irene Visedo (The Devil’s Backbone) and Gustavo Salmeron (Body Confusion) with production duties split between The Green Star Films, Totem Producciones and major outfit Tornasol Films (The Secret In Their Eyes).

Fresnadillo is currently hot property having recently been chosen by Relativity Media as the director of The Crow remake and with thriller Intruders, starring Clive Owen currently in post. Fresnadillo and Toledo previously worked together on the live-action short Linked (1997).

Film factory will be showing a promo of The Path at Cannes.
