Andrew Herwitz’ Film Sales Company boards rights to three films at Tribeca including Cheryl Hines’ romantic comedy Serious Moonlight based on a screenplay by the late Adrienne Shelly.

Hines starred in Shelly’s last film Waitress and directs Meg Ryan and Timothy Hutton in Serious Moonlight, which is produced by Michael Roiff and Shelly’s husband Andy Ostroy. Herwitz is handling worldwide rights and the film will get its market premiere in Cannes next month.

Playground premieres in Documentary Competition and uncovers the reality of the juvenile sex trade in the United States. Libby Spears directed and George Clooney and Steven Soderbergh served as executive producers. The Film Sales Company holds worldwide rights.

Romance The Good Guy stars Alexis Bleidel, Scott Porter and Bryan Greenberg and premieres in the Encounters section of the festival and follows the lives of twentysomethings living life in the fast lane of New York. The Film Sales Company is representing North American rights.

“Tribeca is a great place to sell movies because the distributors get to see the films with real movie going audiences,” Herwitz said. “I am certain these three distinct and very commercial films will really
resonate.”
