First Look International (FLI) chief Stuart Ford is lining up meetings with buyers at the European Film Market to discuss Larry Charles' anticipated follow-up to the global smash Borat: Cultural Learnings Of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakstan.

Charles is currently roaming the world shooting Untitled Larry Charles Project, a documentary in which he investigates the world's institutionalised religions.

The project promises to be a controversial confection given Charles' no-holds-barred approach and the subject matter.

Outspoken US comedian and political commentator Bill Maher is narrating the piece.

Ford was remaining tight-lipped on the eve of the EFM, however it is understood he is keen to receive footage from Charles before commencing deals.

Jonah Smith and Palmer West of Los Angeles-based A Thousand Words are producing and CAA is handling domestic rights.

FLI's slate includes Tommy O'Haver's startling true-life crime drama An American Crime with Catherine Keener and Ellen Page, and Gregg Araki's comedy Smiley Face starring Anna Farris. Both had their world premieres at Sundance last month.

Ford is also selling the supernatural thriller Afterlife starring Kate Bosworth, which Krzysztof Kieslowski protegee Agnes Vosloo will begin shooting in the US in April.
