First Look Media has acquired worldwide rights excluding Japan and Thailand to Oxide Pang's The Tesseract, an English-language thriller based on Alex (The Beach) Garland's bestselling novel starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Saskia Reeves and Thai child actor Alexander Rendel.

First Look has also acquired worldwide rights to Simon De Selva's Lethal Dose (LD50) starring Katharine Towne and Melanie Brown (aka Mel B of The Spice Girls fame).

First Look's sales arm Overseas Filmgroup is the exclusive sales agent for the slate of films made under the Four Horsemen Films brand, the genre label of UK-based production outfit Random Harvest.

Pang's credits include the critically acclaimed Bangkok Dangerous (released by First Look domestically in Oct 2001) and The Eye, both of which he co-directed with his brother Danny. Cruise/Wagner Productions recently acquired US remake rights to The Eye.

The Tesseract is produced by Artist House Inc and Artist Film Inc in co-production with Aoi Advertising Promotion and Toshiba Digital Frontiers Inc in Japan. Artist House will release the film in Thailand in early 2004.

Set in Bangkok's underworld, The Tesseract interconnects the fates of four different people - a desperate drug dealer, a young runaway, a beautiful assassin and an English psychologist.

Lethal Dose is produced by Alistair Maclean-Clark and Basil Stephens and tells the story of a group of young activists who get more than they bargained for when they break into an animal research lab, only to find that they have become the subjects of a grisly experiment.
