Marc Abraham's Flash Of Genius starring Greg Kinnear as the inventor of the intermittent windshield wiper has won the Hamptons International Film Festival's $25,000 Alfred P Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize.

The cash prize is awarded to a feature that 'explores science and technology themes in fresh, innovative ways and depicts scientists and engineers in a realistic and compelling fashion.'

Flash Of Genius recently launched at Toronto and will open in North America through Universal on October 17.

The festival has extended its Alfred P Sloan Foundation grant for 2009-2011 and will commission four 'established directors' to create a series of science-related shorts in 2010.
