Focus Features International chief Alison Thompson hailed a resurgent Japanese buying contingent at AFM as she announced key sales following the market earlier this month.

'As far as we're concerned Japan is back in action,' Thompson said. 'We really did have an extremely good AFM. It was substantially better than last year for us.'

Neil Marshall's Doomsday sold to Presidio in Japan, which also bought the Untitled Aaron Eckhart and Jennifer Aniston Project.

Eastern Promises sold to Nikkatsu, Reservation Road and The Other Boleyn Girl went to Broad Media, and Rudo Y Cursi sold to Toho-Kushinsha.

The upcoming Jim Jarmusch film The Limits Of Control sold to Entertainment Farm in Japan, which has come on board as a production partner, as well as to Jean Labadie's new company Le Pacte in France.

The Jarmusch film also sold to Germany (Tobis), Italy (Mikado), Benelux (A Film), Scandinavia (Nordisk) and the CIS (Central Partnership).

Rudo Y Cursi went to Germany (Tobis), Benelux (A Film), Scandinavia (Sandrew Metronome), Australia (Roadshow) and the CIS (Paradise). Thompson is in talks with the UK and France.
