Child star Susan Gordon, also known as Susan L Aviner, whose credits include her role as Dorothy Nichols in TheFive Pennies, died on Dec 11 following a battle with cancer. She was 62.

Gordon starred in six features and appeared in more than 30 television episodes on shows such as The Donna Reed Show, The Twilight Zone and Gunsmoke.

During her career she worked alongside actors including Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Alan Ladd, Ronald Reagan, Zsa Zsa Gabor, Louis Armstrong, Charles Herbert, Rod Serling and Don Ameche.

In 2002, Gordon made her off-Broadway debut staring in A Magic Place In A New Time in New York City after leaving the business as a young starlet to attend college. While living in Japan and working as a copywriter, Gordon met her husband Avi Aviner and later moved to New York.

Gordon is survived by husband Avi, children Hana, Ariel, Shira, Eitan, Lilly and Yair and grandchildren Ava, Matthew, Jude, Ora Temima and William.

A private memorial service was held on Monday (12) with friends and family present and Gordon was buried in Israel the following day.
