FortissimoFilms has acquired worldwide sales rights to Tsai Ming-liang'sI Don't Want To Sleep Alone, set in Malaysia.

Thefilm is one of the seven New Crowned Hope (NCH) projects, which willbe shown at Vienna's NCH festival inNovembercelebrating the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth.

The first NCH project tobe unveiled is Hamaca Paraguaya,by Paraguay's Paz Encina, which will receive its world premiere in the UnCertain Regard section of Cannes in May.

Tsai Ming-liang, who previouslydirected films including Good Bye, Dragon Inn and The Wayward Cloud, describes I Don't Want To Sleep Alone asbeing"about a group of labourers who enjoy watching Bollywood movies, a Chinese Indonesian girl who works inChinatown, a man wandering in the streets without an identity, and a mysteriousmattress abandoned by a rich man. It is a comedy, but it is also tragic."
