Fortissimo Film Sales celebrated a successful AFM with sales of Tsai Ming-liang's Cannes 2001 competition film What Time Is It There' to the ICA for the UK and Pegasos for Germany. The ICA also bought Iwai Shinji's All About Lily Chou Chou.

Japanese film Hush! Went to Crown Films for Taiwan and Pop Asia Entertainment for Korea. The Pang brothers' Bangkok Dangerous was sold to Mediaset for Italy, while Cannes-tipped Springtime In A Small Town went to - A-Film and Cineart/Cinelibre for Benelux.

Fortissimo chiefs Wouter Barendrecht and Michael Werner said that despite the apparently flat market conditions, they have been selling strongly since the London Screenings.

At the same time, Fortissimo has picked up world rights on Monrak Transistor, a genre-defying odyssey of self-discovery, by hot Thai director Pen-ek Ratanaruang that looks destined for a Cannes Film Festival slot. Among the top auteurs of Thailand's new wave Ratanaruang, previously delivered two features: Fun Bar Karaoke and 6ixtynin9. Monrak Transistor stars Suppakorn Kiktsuwan, who headed the cast of a previous Fortissimo hit title The Tears Of The Black Tiger. Produced by Duangkamol Limcharoen at Cinemasia, the film has already been sold to Clockworkx for Japan.
